So what's a Cut Out Cake?

Glad you asked.....! A cut out cake is a cake that lies flat on the cake board, but is cut out into a 2 dimensional shape to resemble whatever it is supposed to look like. Cut out cakes are different from sculpted cakes in that they are not 3 dimensional. Because of this, cut out cakes are more reasonably priced, and they look great too. A cut out cake can be done for nearly any budget!

	Ok you baby boomers! I've been doing a lot of these cakes lately! This is your classic "show everyone your age" cake design. The cakes are cut out into the shapes of the numbers, then adorned with finish work in modeling chocolate.		This cake was cut out into the shape of the Port Townsend TV station logo. It was cut out into the TV shape, then the finish work was done in colored white chocolate for final detailing.
